Machanic Manyeruke

Director – Machanic Manyeruke and the Puritans 

Baba Machanic Manueruke is by some estimation the topmost gospel musician and recording artiste in Zimbabwe. Manyeruke started as a secular musician and recorded his first 7-inch single in the 1970s well before he founded his popular band, Machanic Manyeruke and the Puritans. He joined the Salvation army in 1968 and developed his skills as a musician there. He is a senior member of the Salvation Army.

According to the All-Music Guide, Manyeruke produces gospel music with “haunting beautiful melodies which are unforgettable.” Some of his popular albums include: Siyabonga Baba, Ndeyeiko Nyaya, Varombo Pamweya and Mwari Ishe Wazvose.


Baba Manyeruke continues to be engaged in new music projects. He has featured considerably on the radio networks in Zimbabwe and across southern Africa.
